Young leaves have maroon variegations on the surface which turns green on maturity. The new leaves are also characterized by maroon blotches on the underside of the leaves. Cold hardy. Musa prefer rich organic compost. They do best well when planted outdoors in the tropics under full sunlight. Once established they do well with dilute fertilizing.
Plants offered are 1.5 to 2 feet tall established in 1.5 litre poly pots. Available after May 2009.
